Being basically unemployed gave me the time and energy to seek out San Franciscan events that I normally might not notice, such as this one; The Chicken John Book Launch Party. The revelry took up an entire block and included The Lost Municipal Library of Brigadoon, which is only open once every hundred years (I checked out the book Seductress, and so far it has served me well...), a trolley car, battling gigantic robots and gorillas, art cars, a "Fight Your Inner Demons" booth, and much much more.
The book being launched was titled, "How to Fail." Not in my book, Chicken John. My aspiration is to have a similar party for Boppity Bear Enterprises someday. Did I mention there was a three story high metallic device that shot out lightning sparks to the rhythm of the attached electric guitar below?
